September news

So, the Cardiff concert has now been delayed till the spring, sadly, but there look to to be two more performances in the US around the same time.
And at the same time - Good Friday, to be precise - there’ll be a McEnery music moment as I’m composing the music for The Way of the Cross, a passion pageant that will take over Salisbury for a couple of hours, attracting around four thousand people (or it did last time). 2 April if you fancy putting it in your diary…

Benny Andersson

After 35 years of waiting I finally got to see Benny Andersson (and the Benny Andersson Band) live yesterday. An extraordinary experience - just incredible to be standing a few metres away from your hero. The show was really fantastic too - brilliant musicianship and terrific bonhomie for starters, but such joyful and heartfelt music. Dream of a lifetime fulfilled.

Hurrah!!

Well, my new website is up and running, thanks to Owain. He’s done a fantastic job. Now I have to remember to put news on here. So: dates for your diary…

The Resurrection has two planned performances, one in Cardiff on 22 October and one in Pasadena, Texas on November 1. More details to follow (plus another outing in Iowa with any luck).

Plus: next Simon McEnery & Elizabeth Sweetnam cabaret is on August 31 in the gardens of Mompesson House. No rain for the tenth year in a row?!!

First blogging attempt

This is McEnery’s new blog!

Good grief, McEnery has actually got round to something. Having ten minutes to spare, he looks at the blog thing, types some stuff, and reports back (in another three years…).
