'full of emotion and power,

alive with haunting melodies

and glorious harmonies'

I've been composing since I was about ten, and began as a songwriter. I also began writing for theatrical productions early - The Caucasian Chalk Circle when I was 15.

Since then, I've written for other theatrical events, including The Way of the Cross in Salisbury twice. I've also written quite a lot of choral music, including some for Salisbury Cathedral Choir. There are some recordings below.

My most recent piece (December 2022) is a collection of international carols called Nine Angels, for choir and piano. It's been recorded by Salisbury Chamber Chorus and can be streamed or bought on Spotify, iTunes et al.

I was commissioned to write a piece, Idyll, for the 2018 Edington Festival.

In 2017 I completed a large-scale choral work called Space Time Matter Energy. It's a piece for choir, solo voices, percussion ensemble and piano, and was premièred in London on 10 June 2017 at St Mary-le Strand Church, performed by the Salisbury Chamber Chorus with the London-based Beaten Track Ensemble, conducted by me.

There's a highlights video below.

My biggest choral piece prior to Space Time Matter Energy was The Resurrection, for soloists, choir, strings and piano, which was recorded by Salisbury Cathedral Choir and the Sarum Orchestra, now La Folia. I've also written a Requiem for mezzo, harp and choir.

Over the last few years, I've also returned to my first love of songwriting, setting poems of my own choice (by Allen Ginsberg and Thom Gunn, to name two) as well as discovering other intriguing poems for commissions. Twenty of these songs, mostly from the last three years or so, have been collected in a volume called, appropriately enough, 20 Collected Songs, availalable in high or medium/low voice editions. It's published by Red Rust Music Ltd. Below are some recordings. You can also visit my Soundcloud page here, and my YouTube page here.
